Dr. Dave Bloustien is a stand-up comedian, improvisor, and published former academic. But he’s probably best known as part of the multi-award-winning writing team on 10’s Good News Week and ABC’s The Glass House. He’s also the founder and co-producer of intellectual, political & nerdcore comedy community Wit Large.
In 2009, Dave received a Moosehead award for The Social Contract, the true story of when he had to prove himself funny in court. Twice.
He’s performed critically successful solo shows at festivals all over Australia, as well as in London and Edinburgh. He’s made people laugh at some of the biggest theatres in the country, sometimes without a script, including Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, Hobart’s Theatre Royal and the Melbourne Town Hall.
Dave has also been heard on JJJ and Radio National, written about in The Monthly, seen on the Comedy Channel and forced to warm up a drunken cocktail crowd at the 2009 Sydney Comedy Festival awards.
