Daniel Townes & Tommy Dassalo
International Australian comedian Daniel Townes first hit the Sydney comedy scene with his laid-back and conversational stand-up style in 2003, and quickly made his mark as one of the country’s best live acts.
Since then, he’s performed at the prestigious invite-only Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, and won over audiences worldwide with his laconic and disarming delivery: headlining and hosting at comedy clubs throughout Australia, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, Spain, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, The Netherlands, and the UAE.
Daniel is a regular at comedy, fringe, and music festivals, and has performed a new show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival every year since 2005. He’s also had numerous successful seasons at Adelaide Fringe, Sydney Comedy Festival, Perth International Comedy Festival, and Edinburgh Fringe. He’s toured with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow since 2007, and hosted the Hong Kong and Singapore tours in 2013.
“A must see.”
“More gags per minute than any other comedian”
With his youthful exuberance, charming storytelling and wickedly sharp turn-of-phrase, Tommy Dassalo has fast found himself amongst Australia’s most sought after young stand-up comedians and television writers and podcasters.
He has appeared on ABC’s ‘The Librarians’, ‘Sleuth 101’ and ‘Dirty Laundry Live’ and has written for top-rating and award-winning television shows, including ‘Talkin’ Bout Your Generation’, ‘Spicks and Specks’, ‘The Project’, ‘You’re Skitting Me’ and ‘This Week Live.’
He also hosts a weekly podcast ‘The Little Dum Dum Club’ with fellow comedian Karl Chandler – one of Australia’s most popular comedy podcasts. Each week, they chat with a different guest from the cream of Australia’s comedy crop. Past guests include Tim & Eric, Shaun Micallef, Yumi Stynes and Marc Maron. The show regularly cracks the iTunes top 10, and has amassed a loyal following of listeners both in Australia and overseas.
