Jacques Barrett is Dynamite!
Jacques has been working the Sydney scene with steady progress since 2006. He hit his stride in 2008 and become one of Sydney’s most sort after club comics.
With a combination of social satire and impressionistic style he creates a charming stage persona. He takes his audiences on a journey that proves him to be sharp and original. Jacques is constantly evolving his stage act and his ability to write cutting edge topical material and deliver it in any medium has put him at the forefront of the new breed of Australia’s rising stars.
Dave Jory became a cult favourite on Triple J with a fake celebrity gossip segment (2006-2007) and then the brilliant segment called ‘I Love This Crowd’, where he performed listener’s jokes in a stand up club and played the recordings on-air.
In 2007, Dave was a finalist in Rove Live’s ‘Golden Nut Competition’, as well as being chosen as an Australian finalist for the popular NBC America program, ‘Last Comic Standing’. He has since appeared on television shows such as ‘The NRL Footy Show’, ‘Stand Up Australia’, ‘Joker Poker’, ‘Last Comic Standing’ and ‘The Mansion’ amongst others.
Dave is the author of the book, ‘I Know Everything’, which Hustler Magazine described as, ‘has the edge over Woody Allen’. He has also been a contributing writer for various magazines and TV shows, such as ‘The Glasshouse’ and ‘Stand Up Australia’.
Dave has worked with lots of great comics over the years, including being the opening act for Weird Al Yankovic, Arj Barker and Paulie Shore for their respective shows at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney.
He was voted one of Zoo Magazine’s ’10 Funniest Australian Comedians’, and is also an accomplished actor and writer. Dave’s stand-up act is relatable, light on profanity, and most of all, hilarious!
