As an already accomplished author and journalist, David Smiedt began delighting audiences with his brand of warm and inclusive stand-up comedy in the mid-naughties. Now he is a regular fixture on both the the Australian comedy circuit and in print in all the top selling Australian magazines and even manages to produces a new book every couple of years.

David is very versatile. In fact, he is the only journalist in Australian publishing history to be in concurrent issues of lads-mag Ralph and Your Garden.

He has penned six humorous books, he is an outstanding MC and was described by Adam Hills as “a living breathing joke machine”.

George moved from Greece to the UK to study Biochemistry and, in doing so, managed to avoid doing his national service in the Greek army. He discovered stand-up soon after and has gone on to sell out shows across the globe. He has made several TV appearances on comedy shows and some more serious ones, like discussing the Greek financial crises on BBC One.

George’s first gig was in a dark room above a pub in Newcastle’s city centre. Fortunately for him, it turned out that he had a grasp of the English language as well as a talent for the art of comedy and soon this “really likeable comic” went on to play all over the UK and abroad at some of the most prestigious comedy clubs. After impressing in the CKP LunchTime Special at the Edinburgh Festival he came back with his one man show ‘Greek Tragedy’, which sold at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
